In-Office Service
Notary Public
A commissioned New York notary public, in the office at 163 W 231st Street. Walk in during business hours — no appointment needed. Bring valid photo ID and do not sign your document beforehand.
What We Notarize
- Affidavits and sworn statements.
- Child travel consent letters and parental authorizations.
- Powers of attorney and letters of authorization.
- Bills of sale, releases and general contracts.
- School, employment, insurance and landlord forms that require a notarized signature.
- We can also prepare the document itself — not just witness it.
What To Bring
- A valid, unexpired government photo ID for every person signing.
- The complete document — every page, including the notary block.
- All signers, in person, at the same time.
- Do NOT sign it in advance. You must sign in front of the notary or it cannot be notarized.
What A Notary Cannot Do
- We cannot notarize a document you have already signed elsewhere.
- We cannot notarize for someone who is not physically present, or who cannot produce valid ID.
- We cannot certify a copy of a birth certificate, passport or other vital record — only the issuing agency can.
- We cannot tell you what to put in the document, or whether it is the right document for your situation. That is legal advice.
We are not a "notario": In many Latin American countries a notario público is a licensed attorney. In New York, a notary public only witnesses signatures and administers oaths. We are notaries and document preparers — we are not attorneys and we do not give legal advice. If anyone tells you a notary can give you immigration or legal advice, they are misleading you.
Good To Know
A few things that save people a second trip.
- Walk-ins welcome during all open hours — Monday to Friday 10am–7pm, Saturday 10am–4pm.
- New York State sets the maximum notary fee by law. We tell you the cost before we start — no surprises.
- If a form needs to be translated before it is signed, we do that too.
- Se habla español — we explain the document in the language you are comfortable in.
