Applications Assistance
Unemployment, Social Security, SNAP, Medicare and marriage license applications — we help you prepare and submit the right paperwork with the correct information, so your application moves forward without delay.
Walk-Ins Welcome
Unemployment Assistance
- Unemployment eligibility — help you understand if you may qualify for unemployment benefits based on your recent job loss and hours worked.
- Claim support — help you prepare and submit your unemployment insurance claim (paper or online) with the correct information.
- Online account setup — help you set up and navigate your unemployment online account (NYS Department of Labor or your state system).
- What to bring — Social Security number, NYS ID or driver's license, your complete 18-month work history (employer names, addresses, and dates), and bank info for direct deposit. New York's maximum benefit is now $869 per week (raised October 2025).
Social Security
- Benefit applications — help you complete and submit applications for retirement, survivor, disability (SSDI) or SSI benefits.
- Social Security card — help with Form SS-5 for a replacement, corrected or updated card (name change after marriage or naturalization).
- my Social Security account — help you create or recover your online account to check earnings, benefit estimates and letters.
- What to bring — photo ID, birth certificate, proof of citizenship or immigration status, and last year's W-2 or tax return.
SNAP (Food Stamps)
- New applications — help you apply for SNAP food benefits through New York's ACCESS HRA / myBenefits system.
- Recertification — help with renewal paperwork and periodic reports so your benefits do not lapse.
- Document checklist — photo ID, Social Security numbers for everyone in the household, proof of income, and rent or utility bills.
- Note — eligibility is decided by the agency, not by us. We make sure the paperwork is complete and filed correctly.
Medicare
- Enrollment paperwork — help you apply for Medicare Part A and Part B and understand your enrollment window.
- Cost-help programs — help you apply for the Medicare Savings Program or Extra Help with prescription costs.
- Deadlines explained — initial, special and general enrollment periods, so you avoid a late-enrollment penalty.
- Note — we are not insurance agents and do not sell or recommend plans. We help you complete and submit the forms.
Marriage License
- Help couples prepare and apply for a marriage license in New York State.
- Walk you through document requirements, fees, and where to submit.
- Bronx / NYC details — the license costs $35, starts online through the City Clerk's "Project Cupid" portal, and both partners appear with photo ID (foreign passports accepted; no Social Security number required). After a 24-hour wait, you can marry anywhere in NY State within 60 days.
